Jeffrey Quinn drew inspiration for the Blue Elephant from his travels in Africa and from one particularly moving encounter with elephants. At the time his daughter was merely a glimmer in his eye, but he knew that he wanted to recount the magic of that moment, and to share all the magic in the world with her some time in the future. And so The Blue Elephant began as a simple bedtime story he would tell his daughter. He lives in Arizona with his wife and daughter and a growing collection of blue elephants.
